Do you travel?

The very short answer to that is, YES! We have an incredible wanderlust. The longer answer is, we take on a few travel projects per year. If your elopement or wedding happens to be one of my bucket list locations- we will often shoot/film at a discounted rate if you cover our travel expenses! Contact us to chat about it!

do you deliver every image you shoot?

No, we do not. We eliminate duplicates, test shots, missed focus shots, bad expressions or other images that may dilute the overall quality of the finished product. With our expertise of processing thousands of images per year, we are confident in our ability to provide MANY wonderful images that capture your day! Who will be the photographer or videographer for our wedding?

Both Ashleigh & Stefanie are the main photographers for Joie de Vivre Photography, shoot interchangeably, and are trained in both photo and video. We are interchangeable, and the same in direction and shooting styles. Within 6 months of the wedding one of us will be specifically assigned to your date! We truly value a balance between work and home life, and the best aspect of hiring a team, is that we can provide excellent quality to our clients, while also being present and involved with our families and children. But one of us is guaranteed to be the lead shooter for your day! Videographers might also include our associates Garrett, Tristan, or Warren pending availability. We are also training additional associate photographers currently, so that we can keep growing and serving! All images and films are edited by Stefanie for continuity in style!

What kind of portraits do you do?

We do all kinds! Maternity, newborn, kids, families, seniors, engagements ,wedding, in-home lifestyle, commercial, and or social media influencers! We love that by not sticking to only one style of photography, We are able to constantly feel inspired and challenged, and not burned out and tired of only one genre of photography.

Can I see a full event or portrait session from start to finish?

YES! Contact us for a link to a recent wedding in its entirety! You can also see our entire body of recent work HERE (the digital download gallery for all clients!) You can also search through the portfolio through the top menu!

Do you edit all of our images?

Yes! Every single image that will be delivered in your gallery will be individually processed for color correction, exposure, clarity, tone, sharpness and selective black and white processing. If you are looking for advanced editing techniques- such as blemish removal, head swapping, skin smoothing, etc, I am happy to do this on your absolute favorite images on a case by case basis. For extensive retouching of more than a few images, I charge an hourly rate.

What type of equipment do you use?

While talent and skill CAN make up for lower quality gear, having professional equipment is really important! We shoot with Canon R5 mirrorless cameras, Canon Mark IV SLR's, & several others for backup. We have a variety of Canon L series lenses, as well as the Sigma ART line.

How long does it take to get my images back?

My turnaround time for portrait images is around 2-3 weeks or less. Full wedding galleries are between 3-4 weeks. Often I will have a sneak peek for you within 48 hours! Video takes around 12 -16 weeks, although the contract will state up to 24 weeks for full completion during busy seasons.

how many images do you typically deliver from a portrait/engagement session? from a wedding?

We typically deliver anywhere from 50-75+ images per full hour session. Mini sessions are between 20-40. For a wedding, we typically deliver 60-80 images per hour. Keep in mind these numbers may increase or decrease depending on the flow of the day and the number of events/activities needing to be captured. All weddings are different!

what size can we print our photos up to with our full resolution download?

In most cases, you can print your photos up to 20x30 without any quality loss. If you'd like to print larger than that, additional post production MAY be required. Just ask us!

What rights do we have with our digital images?

You have the right to share and reprint images whenever you want! I strongly recommend ordering through me, however, to ensure best quality. You may also share the images and post in social media. However, you may not sell images for profit or publish your images without written consent. You are also not allowed to do any further editing, other than cropping for print.

Do you offer any weekday or off-season discounts?

We do not offer discounts on weekday weddings and off season weddings. As you may know, wedding season is almost year round here in sunny California. Because of that, we are shooting throughout the year. If you have a special circumstance, please email me to chat about it.

Do you backup our images? how can we be sure that our images wont be lost?

Yes! During the event, we shoot on two cards at the same time, which instantly creates a backup. As soon as we return home from the wedding, we immediately begin importing the images to a backup hard drive, AND an off-site cloud storage. We also do not delete the card, until the images are backed up. Technology malfunctions are rare, but they do happen, and we do our utmost to preserve your precious memories!

do you have liability insurance?

This is an important question! Yes! We do carry insurance! Many venues require the photographer to have liability insurance. So before hiring Uncle Joe, make sure he's covered. ;)

we're busy, and might not be able to meet. Are there other options?

We love to meet our couples ahead of time! However, life is busy! We can handle everything remotely. Technology is an amazing thing- lets face-time, Skype, or even a good old fashioned telephone call will work! We can meet in person during our engagement session, or in some cases- on your wedding day! We promise we're cool. ;)

Do you travel to meet potential clients?

Due to schedule limitations, we cannot travel to meet clients. We are happy to meet you at a local spot for coffee or lunch at so we can get to know each other, or schedule a zoom or FaceTime chat!

How do i reserve for my date?

All dates are reserved once we receive your signed contract and retainer! All of which can be done through bank transfer, Zelle or check. We're easy! The balance of your package is due on or before the day of the wedding. Let me know your package choices, and your emails, and we will get the ball rolling! We also offer cash discounts!

Is there an additional fee if we pay via credit card?

Yes. The convenience fee for all credit card transactions is 3% of the charge amount.

If we cancel the wedding, will we recieve our retainer back?

Unfortunately, no. Retainer fees are used to reserve your date so that no one else can take it. Once we have reserved your date, we do not accept new clients for that day. If, in the case you need to cancel-if your released wedding date does get booked by someone else, I will happily return your retainer (minus any fees for work done, like an engagement session/admin fees). Are there travel fees associated with the engagement session or wedding day shoot?

For portrait and engagement sessions, travel fees will apply if not shot in the Temecula (or Wylie TX) area. Travel fees outside our home base start at 120+. For the wedding day, 40 miles of travel is included from 92592. For travel abroad- lets chat about it!

What is your portrait session rescheduling/canceling policy?

For portrait sessions, during the holiday season (sept-dec) payment is due for the session upon booking. If you need to cancel or reschedule your date, you may do so with no penalty up to 7 days before. If the session is within 48 hours, only emergency situations can be refunded/rescheduled. Holiday sessions are often booked back to back, with limited availability, so a last minute cancellation or a no-show will not be refunded. Thank you for understanding! During the rest of the year, please give us as much notice as possible should you need to reschedule.
